AskBee is an app that helps primary and secondary school students to learn better, by providing them with live, on-demand access to a personal tutor.
As the first online tutoring platform to offer an in-app video call feature, AskBee enables students to get one-on-one, real-time guidance from qualified tutors. Just like in real life – or possibly better.
EduHive Sdn Bhd is a registered social enterprise that behind AskBee. The App is developed by Apptivity Lab, an award-winning mobile software company established since 2009. Founder Jason Khong describes AskBee as a “birthed under lockdown” solution.
Our vision is to see a world where no student would have to struggle with their studies alone, but always have access to someone who can help them out.
Our mission is to break down cost and time barriers for parents, so students are able to get one-on-one tutoring and focused learning from home.
“During the COVID-19 lockdown, we noticed that parents were really struggling to teach their children at home. But sometimes, what parents need is a little support in understanding the question. We noticed many university students began responding to this need with home-based learning. It was wonderful to see multiple volunteer movements in Singapore and Malaysia, gathering tertiary students to make tutoring services available online.
On a personal note, some of our founding team members volunteer on a weekly basis to tutor underprivileged children. So we decided to do what we do best at Apptivity Lab – which is to develop a digital platform to connect tutors and students.”
We’re open to add new players to our team, if you think you can add value to our company, please contact us!
